Formative Somatics ~ Learn More

Formative somatics gave me, and gives my clients, something we were deeply craving, because it skillfully includes our bodies on our journey.

Our bodies (and, from there, our relationships) are where the rubber meets the road. Exhibit A: the gap between what we know and what we seem able to live. (Both individually and collectively.)

That said, please do not approach this information as though you are missing something critical. Do you have a body? A mind? A soul? These will take you through your life's journey.

That said, if your body is making moves you don't want to make, or struggling to make moves you do want to make-that is not "just the way it is”, nor just the way you are.

I wish for everyone the relief of an experience of their seemingly monolithic shapes or moves becoming movement–by their own hand.

If you…

… just can’t put yourself to sleep

… throw your back out in response to a conversation with your partner (or whomever)

… whoops, just at a whole cake

… yelled at your kids (again)

… struggle with tension or panic (or other forms of over-working) and/or…

… can’t get yourself off the phone

… struggle to break into intimacy…

… If you can’t stop, or can’t start…

There is nothing wrong with you.

If the above is fairly non-interruptive, please carry on knowing you’re doing great, Human. Go dance, or swim, or sleep.

But if you feel like you need support, it’s not for lack of smarts, or insight. You are not failing to try or think positive, nor do you have the wrong mascara (I’m winking at you, gentlemen)…

Our bigger moves (or struggles to move), are made of a more subtle symphony of movement (or lack thereof) that is your birthright to tap into, without leaving your mind at the door.

This is what formative somatic work offers.

More importantly, formative somatic work restores a closeness with one’s self that we all are not only longing for, but designed for.

This work is low on dogma (but has room for dogma) and there are no pre-set moves. I come to sessions ready to learn about you, from you. And I come with a great understanding of our broader human context.

If you’d like to know more about how this work compares and contrasts with other somatic work, or the other billions of offerings out there, please [BUTTON:] see my [Compare & Contrast] sheet, but please first take a walk (or drive or shower or swim) to layer your head-knowledge with body-knowing.
